The Miller Mailer ... a message from your medical missionaries in Mexico!!

Sitting by the Fountain in the land of mountains.

In addition to learning Spanish, one of our jobs before going to Mexico City is to begin to understand how to develop an appropriate ministry in a cross cultural setting. As part of our learning, we went to a Community Health Development conference in Montana with Dr. Dan Fountain, a leader in the field. We didn’t learn all of the answers there but did discover some of the questions we should be asking. Our reading list just got longer! We were also challenged to go to the Bible to find the answers. Praise God for his word and its ability to transform us and the world. We also enjoyed a few days near Glacier National Park with Joel’s parents who came to help with the girls while we attended the conference.

Joel returns to Los Garcia with West Morris Street youth.

One of the privileges of being on a VISA team is seeing someone’s “spiritual light” turn on for the first time. This trip was no exception as adults and students alike experienced the joy of serving and sharing in Chihuahua. Not only were physical projects completed, but relationships were built and spiritual eyes were opened. The opportunity to serve with students and leaders with whom Joel already had a relationship was an extra blessing.
